Hello
My name is Elaina
I am elaina I am cool
Hi Friends, RaeAnne here
*Cue me getting uncomfortable talking about myself*
I've grown up with a love of photography since childhood. I would constantly stealing my moms little point and shoot camera and capture whatever i could, mainly selfies, photos of our pets, flowers, and friends I forced to model. I spent high school taking every photography class available to me and doing as many family photoshoots, prom photos, couple photos, and really whatever I could convince people to hire me for.

After high school I packed my life into my little Hyundai Sonata and took off to North Carolina landing in Boone. I spent about a year a half here working full time at Appalachian Ski Mountain and a little restaurant in Blowing Rock before packing my things once again and heading to Asheville. Asheville is the first place that's felt like home to me since leaving little ol' Fort Wayne, Indiana. I studied Mass Communication at UNCA while working full time at a restaurant and part time as a photographer while a local production group.
Fast forward to now I am still working part time photographing with a local production group while creating this wedding photography business with my best friend. House of Venus feels surreal after dreaming of this for so many years for everything to finally come to fruition.

The Story Behind House of Venus Photography
Ten years ago in a small town outside of Fort Wayne, we met up to take photos of each other after knowing each other through mutual friends. Since then our friendship and love for photography has only grown and we both moved to Asheville within a month of each other. We've been toying with the idea of joining forces and creating a wedding photography business after both working in the wedding industry on the service and event coordinating side.

But why House of Venus? Venus is the goddess of love! The planet Venus rules what we value and the pleasures we take in life. We're both a little bit of astrology nerds and thought it'd be perfect to name our business after the planet that is all about love, beauty, and grace.
